The Lake Trout and Brown Trout fishing around the Milwaukee area is world-class, especially December through March.  Days with huge numbers and giant Trout are common.  However, these fishing days in the winter can be controlled by the weather.  Ice, temperature, and wind can create magical days and create unfishable periods.  It is not uncommon to be able to fish from a boat most or all of winter.  Be prepared to dress warm and be flexible to accommodate these often changing conditions in SE Wisconsin.
